Fantasy Football: 5 Historical Vegas Trends You Should Know for Week 9
What do the odds say about Week 9 for certain players -- like Lamar Miller's performance as a favorite -- and how can your fantasy football team benefit?

Start Wil Lutz as a Favorite

Our own Jim Sannes wrote a very useful article on how kickers performed based on measures such as Vegas spreads, implied totals, and favorites versus underdogs. Based on his findings, we need to target kickers on heavily-favored teams, with implied team total as the tiebreaker.

This week, the New Orleans Saints are favored by 7.0 points. They also have the highest implied total of all teams at 28.75 points. This is all good news for kicker Wil Lutz. Also, if he does well, you can stand up in your living room and yell "You wanna get Lutz? Come on, let's get Lutz!"

According to Sannes, kickers on teams favored by 5-9.5 points scored an average of 8.74 points per game between 2012 and 2014. And when kickers are on teams with an implied total of 27-29.75 points, they scored an average of 8.64 fantasy points.

Lutz is expensive at $5,100 which ranks third among kickers on FanDuel but is in line to have a good game. If you have the extra money, use it on Lutz.
