Corey Grant will easily be the least recognized name on this list. His inclusion here isn’t just for his benefit, but also for the players in front of him on the Jacksonville Jaguars' depth chart, mainly Leonard Fournette. Fournette is ninth among running backs in carries already this season, and Jacksonville has been the most run-heavy team in the league. While that was the plan going into the year, there’s some question about how well Fournette can hold up in this role. He already missed the Week 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts with an ankle injury, and he's had issues with lower-body injuries dating back to his LSU days.

Fournette’s primary backup is Chris Ivory, who hasn’t been all that effective spelling Fournette this season. Ivory has 57 rushing attempts, but he has averaged -0.12 Rushing NEP per carry. Grant has only carried the ball 15 times, but he’s been worth 0.35 Rushing NEP per carry.

Ivory is a much more powerful back, but Grant is younger -- 25 -- and provides a bigger home-run threat with the ball. With Fournette already wearing defenders down early in the game, Grant’s speed could open up bigger plays later rather than the Jaguars continually running Ivory against stacked boxes to little success on the plays when Fournette won’t run it down the defense’s throat himself.
