We're bending the ownership rules a bit, but it's imperative that we talk about Josh McCown this week.
McCown is having a pretty incredible year. Prior to the season, he was viewed at a stopgap option for what was expected to be one of the worst offenses in football. But the Jets haven't been that bad, and McCown has been a really solid fantasy producer, averaging 15.4 points per game and currently sitting as the overall QB9.
Josh McCown is a QB1. What is life?
In Week 10, McCown is in a great spot to keep rolling as the Jets hit the road to take on the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing passers, including surrendering some pretty big weeks to some pretty meh quarterbacks.
Week | Quarterback | Fantasy Points |
---|---|---|
2 | Mike Glennon | 11.04 |
3 | Case Keenum | 28.56 |
4 | Eli Manning | 27.72 |
5 | Tom Brady | 13.62 |
6 | Carson Palmer | 20.92 |
7 | Tyrod Taylor | 20.02 |
8 | Cam Newton | 12.56 |
9 | Drew Brees | 18.72 |
Our schedule-adjusted metrics have Tampa Bay's pass defense ranked 30th, and the Jets' 21.0-point implied total isn't horrific. Our models have McCown as this week's 13th-best quarterback, making him a premier streaming option.
