Among 46 quarterbacks with at least 20 drop backs this season, only two have a worse Passing NEP per drop back than Tom Savage. That's a significant decline from Deshaun Watson, whose 0.19 Passing NEP per drop back ranks seventh in that same group.
Watson had averaged four passing touchdowns per game over his past four starts before a torn ACL took him out for the season. He accomplished that while averaging just 31 pass attempts per game. On the other hand, Savage managed just one touchdown pass in 44 attempts against the Indianapolis Colts. Surprisingly, the Colts have actually held opposing quarterbacks to an average of just 1.44 passing touchdowns per game, but Savage's 219 passing yards are the fewest the Colts have given up in 2017.
Savage will be up against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend, who are holding opposing quarterbacks to the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game. Our models project him for the fewest fantasy points of the week among all 28 starting quarterbacks.
