6 Fantasy Football Splits That Matter for Week 10

Carlos Hyde: A Lead Back in a High-Scoring Affair

Only the Cleveland Browns have targeted its running backs (36% share) more than the San Francisco 49ers (33%) over the last three weeks -- or since rookie C.J. Beathard replaced Brian Hoyer as starter. Beathard has averaged 5.57 yards per attempt in three starts, targeting Carlos Hyde in particular on a team-high 22.58% of attempts (28-of-125 throws) in that span.

More importantly, Hyde's opportunity has proven to be consistent and trump Matt Breida's in recent weeks. Hyde, for example, has averaged a 74.35% snap rate for San Francisco the past four games. Breida meanwhile has taken part in merely 25.28% of offensive snaps for the 49ers in that stint.

And if Hyde is expected to continue receiving the most volume among San Francisco's backfield, it's worth noting this matchup against the New York Giants has the makeup to sneakily lead in most combined plays of any game in Week 10. As Pat Thorman noted in his weekly Snaps, Pace, and Stats piece, San Francisco averages the sixth-most snaps (66.3) and the Giants surrender the third-most (67.8).

Just another reason to love Hyde against New York and its 15th-ranked defense, according to Adjusted Rushing Defensive NEP.
