Remember Week 8, when JuJu Smith-Schuster finished as the second-highest scoring wide receiver in fantasy? It turns out that we might see more of that going forward.
The rookie's performance on Sunday -- he finished as the WR8 in 0.5 PPR leagues -- told us that he isn't letting go of the role he stole from Martavis Bryant. At this point it'd be hard for the team to justify going back to Bryant, too. Not only has the 20-year-old Smith-Schuster been productive across from Antonio Brown, he's been crazy efficient too.
Our metrics indicate that he's been more efficient even than Brown himself. JuJu's Reception NEP Per Target -- or the expected points a player adds to his team's total each time he receives a target -- of 1.07 actually tops Brown's mark of 0.75 and is the fourth-highest rate in the league among wide receivers with 30 or more targets. His Success Rate -- or the percentage of his plays that add positive value to his team's drive -- of 92 percent also indicates that not only is JuJu efficient, he's also consistently effective.
It's looking like we have a young superstar -- and a legit WR2 -- on our hands in JuJu Smith-Schuster.
