Although trending splits are important to note, matchups are also of the utmost importance.
Take for instance the Green Bay Packers' offense. In five games with Brett Hundley starting, Davante Adams has led the team with 41 targets and a 28.38% target share (eighth highest among all receivers in the last five weeks). Meanwhile, Jordy Nelson has averaged a mere 17.57% target share in that span. A few fantasy players might even already know this and therefore favor Adams in fantasy football this week.
If we take into account the matchup, though, we know the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have allowed the highest percentage of fantasy points (46%) to opposing wide receivers this season. And despite the lesser target share, Nelson has still quietly accrued a higher average depth of target (11.1) than Adams (10.7) in those five games (via AirYards.com). That alone means the former still has an opportunity to produce in a tremendous matchup with only one explosive play.
Be sure and take note of surrounding matchups while reading through the following four splits that matter for Week 13's fantasy football action, as well.
