And you thought Kizer and Siemian were tough to stomach?
Like those two, Tom Savage is not a good real-life quarterback, but we don't really care about that. We care about what he can do for us fantasy-wise in Week 14, and a home matchup against the San Francisco 49ers makes him somewhat attractive. Well, as attractive as Savage can be in a football sense.
San Fran has allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and their defense sits 30th against the pass and 29th overall, per our metrics. Pretty much every quarterback who faces them is at least worth considering as a streamer.
The Niners have given up some quality fantasy weeks to some not-great quarterbacks, so there really is some promise here. Both Jacoby Brissett (17.96 points) and Eli Manning (17.92) posted QB1 weeks against San Francisco in Week 5 and Week 10, respectively.
Houston has a 22.5-point implied total, the 12th-best of the week, and our models have Savage as this week's QB22, projecting him to total 14.70 points.
