Thanks to Joe Mixon suffering an ankle injury against the Detroit Lions, Giovani Bernard took over lead-back duties, and he put forth an eye-opening performance.

Bernard and the Bengals ended the Lions playoff hopes in a 26-17 win, spearheaded by Bernard's 30 touches for 168 all-purpose yards and a score. Not only was he the alpha dog in the rushing category, he also was second on the team in targets with seven, catching all of those looks.

He will face a strong Ravens rushing defense in Week 17. Baltimore check in 12th against the run by our metrics, but if Mixon misses the final week, the workload should be there, making Bernard worth an add.
