The Houston Texans received their lump of coal in the form of two quarterbacks suffering possible concussions on Christmas Day. First, it was T.J. Yates missing time in the second and third quarters before eventually being cleared to return. But not before Taylor Heinicke was knocked out of the game with a concussion of his own. Yeah, not good.
Heinicke was only tasked with attempting one pass, which he completed, while Yates completed just seven of his 16 attempts. That made the Texans the first team since the Atlanta Falcons in December of 2006 to complete 8 or fewer passes in a game.
DeAndre Hopkins was still able to turn in a solid day, catching four passes for 65 yards and one late touchdown, but no other player on the team had more than one reception.
Yates has now completed just 33 of his 73 attempts since taking over for the injured Tom Savage in Week 14, but appears in line for another start in Week 17, as the Texans simply don't have much of a choice. And despite his struggles, he actually will be on the streaming radar, as he draws a soft matchup versus the Indianapolis Colts, who are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks this season.
