2017 NFL Awards: Our Writers See Tom Brady as MVP
Brady was the league's top passer this year, per numberFire's metrics, and our NFL writers voted him MVP. Which other players were recognized in our yearly awards?

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Alvin Kamara (16)

Runner-up: Kareem Hunt (4)

There was nothing Alvin Kamara couldn’t do in 2017. He led all running backs this season in both Rushing NEP and Reception NEP despite having the 24th-most touches among running backs and playing less than half of the offensive snaps -- 44.8 percent -- for the New Orleans Saints.

Among 54 running backs who had at least 100 touches, Kamara was second in NEP per touch (behind only Chris Thompson). But the two were far ahead of the rest of the pack, and Kamara had 99 more touches than Thompson, who was hurt in the middle of the season. Kamara was fifth in yards from scrimmage and finished with 13 touchdowns, which was second in the league behind Gurley.

Kareem Hunt was great. He led the league in rushing yards (1,327) and was ninth in NEP per touch, but the slow middle of the season for the Kansas City Chiefs' offense -- along with Kamara's superb season -- derailed his chances for this award.
