Average Draft Position: 3.07 (RB19)
Projected Fantasy Points: 146.77 (RB23)
You could've made some decent money if a year ago you bet on three running backs going in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft and Derrius Guice not being one of them. That's exactly what happened as the pre-draft process had Guice for lunch, causing him to slip to the 59th pick of the second round.
Time will tell whether that fall was justified, but as far as Guice's fantasy appeal is concerned, Washington was a pretty solid landing spot. While pass-game stud Chris Thompson figures to play a signifcant role, Guice has a pretty clear path to early-down duties as Rob Kelley and Samaje Perine are his chief combatants for the job.
Thompson's presence does ding Guice in PPR formats, but it's unlikely Guice will be a total zero in the passing game if he seizes the early-down gig. Our models project Guice for 23 catches, 184 yards and 1.04 touchdowns through the air, and that's in addition to 220 carries, 865 yards and 6.29 scores as a runner.
Guice is coming off the board in the middle of the third round (3.07) as the RB18, and we have him as our RB23.
