The Dallas Cowboys' group of pass catchers is hot garbage, as you are well aware. And it's hard to get super psyched about a group that's not brimming with talent and flashiness. But at the end of the day, somebody's going to be catching passes from Dak Prescott, and that player will carry value.
As of right now, Allen Hurns is the most expensive piece here, sitting at the end of the ninth round. Third-round pick Michael Gallup is next on the board in the 13th, and then nobody else is being drafted. You can justify taking those guys where they're at even without confirmation of playing time in training camp. But the info we get from camp will help us know how high is too high to be selecting them.
The other name to watch is Tavon Austin. Based on his time with the Los Angeles Rams, it seems pretty apparent that he's not great at this game of football. But if he's going to get first-team reps, that may not matter.

Based both on this and what the Cowboys have said since acquiring Austin, it seems like he's going to have a role in the offense, for better or for worse. That means we should be willing to take late-round stabs on Austin while still being in on Hurns and Gallup at their current costs.
