10 Fantasy Football Bust Candidates for 2018
Labeling someone a bust doesn't always mean the player will be terrible, but these 10 players could easily fall short of their draft costs.

Brandin Cooks, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Average Draft Position: 4.11, WR22, 49th Overall

Brandin Cooks has produced no matter where he's been, returning three straight top-15 PPR seasons at the wide receiver position. As the WR22, it sounds as though he's a value.

Of course, Cooks is transitioning to his second team in as many years and may undergo a dip in targets.

Cooks has seen his target total dip in three straight seasons: 129, 117, 114. In 2017, Cooper Kupp led the Los Angeles Rams with 94 targets. Second on the team was running back Todd Gurley (87). Robert Woods (85) and Sammy Watkins (70) were third and fourth, respectively.

Even if he leads the Rams in targets, he's likely going to max out around 100, given the nature of the team's offense.

No quarterback peppered the slot position quite like Jared Goff did in 2017, per FootballOutsiders, and that's not a position where Cooks thrives or even frequents.

Cooks absolutely can pay off or exceed his WR22 cost, but receivers who change teams generally fail to produce a high ceiling.

Put simply, the floor could fall out if Cooks falls into the 80-target range and gets his touchdowns pilfered by Gurley and Kupp, a red-zone maven.
