ADP: 93rd overall (WR38)
Chris Hogan is old (30) and has never had more than 41 catches or 680 yards in a season. Yet he's one of the more undervalued players in fantasy football right now.
The line of thinking here is pretty simple. The New England Patriots are one of the league's top offenses, and their receiver depth chart is pretty blah. With the departure of Brandin Cooks, the Pats are starved for playmakers on the outside, and there's a whole bunch of volume -- the fourth-most air yards (2,489) and fourth-most targets (240) -- up for grabs.
Julian Edelman is the only other Pats wideout we should be expecting much from, and he is banned for the first four games. I mean, Kenny Britt or Eric Decker may start.
Hogan fixin' to eat, y'all.
Last season, Hogan was cruising before suffering a shoulder injury late in Week 8. Up to that point, he had scored 5 touchdowns and tallied at least 60 receiving yards in 6 of 8 games. He was a beast, and despite his size, he's been a consistent red-zone threat, seeing 19 looks inside the 10 yard-line over the last 2 years, per Rotworld's Evan Silva.
A part of a passing offense that we project to be the best in the NFL in 2018, Hogan is the WR21 for 2018, per our projections.
While his age means he isn't a long-term guy for dynasty leagues, he should be able to help in a big way in 2018, and it won't cost too much to get him.
