7 FanDuel NFL Value Plays for Week 1

Rex Burkhead, RB, New England Patriots

Price: $6,300

Rex Burkhead is the priciest running back we'll look at here, but he is still only tied as the 19th-most expensive player at the position, leaving you with plenty of flexibility under the cap.

The New England Patriots' backfield is, as always, a bit of a crowded mess, but Burkhead still shows a lot of promise in the unit.

Injuries limited his 2017 campaign to 10 games, but he had flashes of value in that sample. He saw double-digit opportunities (targets plus rush attempts) in six consecutive games from Week 7 to Week 14, and he turned those opportunities into 13.1 FanDuel points per game in that span.

Yes, the Patriots took Sony Michel in the first round, but they're also now without Dion Lewis, who became the team's top back last season. Training camp injuries could also be slowing Michel's integration into the offense, and he was limited in Wednesday's practice. Additionally, beat writer Doug Kyed of NESN projects Burkhead at the top of the depth chart for Week 1.

New England's 28.25-point implied total is the second-highest on the slate, and getting the top running back in their offense for this cheap is tough to pass up.
