Fantasy Football: 5 Players You Can Drop After Week 1
A game-day inactive after a rough preseason, rookie Ronald Jones isn't worth a bench spot right now. Which other players can you drop heading into Week 2?

LeGarrette Blount, RB, Detroit Lions

From Super Bowl winner to this; the fall can get pretty intense. Detroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount looked to be the primary goal-line back for yet another year of a muddy backfield situation coming into the season.

Instead, he dazzled fantasy players in Week 1 with four carries for -3 yards rushing.

Admittedly, this was a game where the Lions were getting fully blown out by the middle of the third quarter, and Blount did technically tie for second on the team for rushing attempts in this contest. Still, this is a backfield situation to avoid with Theo Riddick reining in four rushes, and Kerryon Johnson taking five carries. Blount’s longest run on the night was for three whopping yards. The other three: -7 yards, no gain, and 1 yard.

If the Lions’ defense continues to look this ugly, there won’t be a game script where the team can kill clock and punch in short touchdowns with Blount to achieve his fantasy upside, and his floor is simply nonexistent.
