FanDuel Price: $8,800
Projected Points: 24.4
Drew Brees led off this list in Week 1, and although the New Orleans Saints got upset in their home opener, the quarterback certainly didn’t disappoint, as he completed 82.2% of his pass attempts for 439 yards and 3 touchdowns.
And now we’ll go right back to him in Week 2, as the Saints lead all teams with an incredibly high implied total of 29.75 points. Brees will be attacking the Cleveland Browns defense, who allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks last season.
The Browns did manage three interceptions in Week 1, but those came at the hands of Ben Roethlisberger, who turned the ball over through the air at a rate of 0.93 interceptions per game last season, compared to Brees’ 0.5 mark.
Among all quarterbacks projected to start and play a full game this week, Brees’ projection of 0.50 interceptions trails only Alex Smith (0.47).
The Browns' defense also allowed Roethlisberger to throw for 335 yards in Week 1, so it’s no surprise to see our models projecting Brees to finish among the top five quarterbacks in passing yards this week, to go along with his league-high projection of 2.91 passing touchdowns.
Brees’ projected 24.4 FanDuel points are 3.7 points higher than the next-closest player, making him the obvious choice for anyone looking to spend up at quarterback in Week 2.
