DraftKings Price: $3,800
Projected Points: 9.0
Projected Value (points per $1,000): 2.36
Through two weeks, the Tennessee Titans defense has given up 59.8 DraftKings points per game to opposing wide receivers, second-worst in the league and 21.06 points more than the league average. Three wide receivers have already topped 100 yards against them.
Simply put, if you've been targeting a defense to stream receivers against on DraftKings, Tennessee would have been an excellent choice. Our models suggest that trend will continue this week, and Donte Moncrief has a chance to provide solid value.
Moncrief, who came to the Jags from the Indianapolis Colts this offseason, may not have the showiest numbers thus far, but he has certainly received the opportunity to succeed. His 14 targets lead the team and are good for a 17.95% market share. Teammate Keelan Cole has been on the field for 79.1% of the Jags' offensive snaps to Moncrief's 70.1%, which makes Moncrief's higher market share more impressive.
The one worry here is that the Jags could dominate this game early, rendering the passing game to an afterthought for the second half. That means one should only be using Moncrief in tournaments this week, though it was highly unlikely to see people rostering him in cash games anyways.
We have him projected for 9.00 DraftKings points with an upside of 18.47 points, which would return a value of 4.86 points per $1,000. Moncrief is no doubt a risky play, but his opportunity, matchup, and price make him one worth taking.
