FanDuel Price: $4,300
numberFire Projection: 9.2 FanDuel points
When the Chicago Bears traded for and made Khalil Mack the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, no one knew how dominant the move would make their defense. After two weeks though, the Bears' D has moved into elite territory.
Chicago leads the NFL with 10 sacks this season. They have stifled opposing running games too, allowing just 71.5 yards per game. Thanks to two defensive scores, the Bears' defense has scored the second-most FanDuel points per game (15.5) while registering at least 14 FanDuel points each week. Week 3 should be more of the same as they face the worst offense in the NFL, the Arizona Cardinals.
Arizona had high hopes for their offense in 2018 with the return of a healthy David Johnson and some stability at the quarterback position with the signing of Sam Bradford. However, through two games, the results have been a disaster.
The Cardinals have scored a total of just 6 points with 350 yards through Week 2. Johnson has been underutilized, seeing just 14 touches per game. Bradford has been abysmal, posting a -0.30 Passing Net Expected Points, the lowest of all 32 quarterbacks to attempt at least 20 passes. Add in a shaky offensive line and a lack of receiving weapons, and you see why our models have them as the second-worst offensive unit in the league, behind just Buffalo.
Chicago is a 6.0-point road favorite while Arizona carries the second-lowest implied point total of the week, making the Bears an excellent mid-priced option this Sunday.
