The Washington Redskins' passing game gets a nice matchup following their bye week as they face the New Orleans Saints on Monday night.
The Saints have given up 311.0 passing yards per game, only the Chiefs and Bucs have allowed more. Opposing wideouts are shredding their secondary, posting the most catches (66), yards (989), and touchdowns (10) in the NFL. So far this season, running back Chris Thompson and tight end Jordan Reed have been Alex Smith's favorite targets, but with the soft matchup, the wideout crew could lead the way in Week 5.
Leading the receivers in targets, catches, and yards this year is Paul Richardson. The former Seahawk has seen 6 targets in two of three games this season and stands to see more action this Monday if Josh Doctson does not play. Doctson sat out practice on Thursday after injuring his heel in Wednesday's practice session. Richardson is worth a flier even if Docston is on the field as the game is poised to be a shootout (52.5 over/under, the third-highest total of the week).
