Fantasy Football: 5 Bold Predictions for Week 6

Christian Kirk Will Have Over 100 Receiving Yards

Christian Kirk is nothing if not fast. The 21-year-old blazed a 74th-percentile, 4.47 second 40-yard dash back at the NFL combine, and flashed those jets this past weekend on his 75-yard touchdown.

He's not quite a full-time player yet, but he's certainly been producing better than any other pass-catching Arizona Cardinals. Larry Fitzgerald is struggling with a hamstring injury and hasn't topped 40 receiving yards since Week 1, and Chad Williams looks more like Zay Jones than John Brown. Kirk should earn more playing time after his big Week 5 performance and due to his rapport with fellow rookie Josh Rosen.

As JJ Zachariason pointed out in his Week 6 edition of The Report, Rosen is attempting deep passes at an elite rate. 27.12% of his throws have been for 15 or more air yards, the highest rate among active starters in the league (pour one out for Ryan Fitzpatrick). As the young quarterback develops and settles in, we should look for more and more of those deep shots to land in Christian Kirk's hands.

What was especially exciting was that Kirk's long touchdown last Sunday came on the Cardinals' first offensive snap of the game. They clearly had a plan coming into the game to get him open deep, and it worked.

This week the Cards face off against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings currently have Warren Sharps' 30th-ranked explosive pass defense, meaning they are allowing big pass plays to opposing offenses every game -- big pass plays like the one Kirk scored on last week. We saw the Los Angeles Rams smoke the Vikings for long gains repeatedly, something Kirk should be able to accomplish as well.

Week 6 will be Christian Kirk's first 100-yard receiving game.
