Fantasy Football: 5 Bold Predictions for Week 6

Josh Gordon Will Have More Receiving Yardage in Week 6 Than Chris Hogan Has Through Week 5

Week 6 is going to be the week the New England Patriots unleash Josh Gordon.

Gordon has played in a limited fashion since the Pats traded for him before Week 3. As Jeff Howe pointed out at The Athletic, Gordon has played a total of 36 offensive snaps and 30 snaps on passing downs. His last 26 consecutive snaps have come on passing downs. The takeaway? They're running him out there to make plays and catch footballs.

We can almost assume that the Pats pursued Gordon because of Chris Hogan's ineffectiveness this season. Through five weeks Hogan has produced just 143 receiving yards despite seeing at least 86% of the team's snaps in each game. Despite the enormous disparity in playing time, Gordon has produced more yardage than Hogan in each of the last two weeks.

This week the Pats will face off against the scalding-hot Chiefs in a matchup with a crazy 60-point total. If this game plays out like the shootout it projects to be, we can expect Tom Brady to be airing it out all night. And who better to air it out to than the guy who caught last week's 34-yard touchdown on a scramble play?

It helps that the Chiefs defense has allowed the most passing yards in the league by over 200 yards, and it doesn't hurt that Chris Hogan was held out of practice on Thursday. Tom Brady is going to have to keep up with Patrick Mahomes, and as a result Josh Gordon will finish the game with more receiving yards than Chris Hogan has had to date.
