This might feel point chasey after Marquise Goodwin turned 5 targets into 126 yards and 2 scores last week, but a deeper look into the numbers shows that he's got some solid legs to stand on.
Goodwin has been active in just two of the games that C.J. Beathard has started this year, but in those contests, he has seen 9 targets (15.3% market share) with a massive 17.3-yard average depth of target (aDOT). That leaves him with 156 air yards -- accounting for 31.2% of the team's total while nobody else in the offense has more than 70 air yards.
So we can expect Goodwin to be boom-or-bust, seeing few targets and getting plenty of variance on deep balls, but as we saw in Week 6, a "boom" week will leave him blowing away what you'd expect at this price-point.
His health also seems to be picking up, which may raise his floor, as after playing no more than 62% of the team's offensive snaps in Weeks 1 through 5, his 95% snap rate in Week 6 was tops among 49ers wideouts.
