While the New York Jets' receiving room is in shambles due to injuries, rookie tight end Chris Herndon has emerged as one of Sam Darnold's most reliable weapons the past two weeks. The former Miami Hurricane has caught touchdowns in back-to-back weeks and is coming off a career-high seven targets versus the Vikings last week; two of those targets came in the red zone as well.
While Herndon is playing less than 40% of snaps, he is on the field when the Jets are in passing mode, which should often be the case in Week 8, as they are 7.0-point road dogs versus the Chicago Bears. Da Bears have been struggling a bit defensively the last two weeks, too, as they have given up an average of 461.0 total yards and 326.5 passing yards in that span.
For the year, they also sit in the bottom-12 of fantasy points allowed to tight ends, as they have given up the second-most touchdowns (four) in the NFL to the position in six games.
