Fantasy Football: 5 Things We Learned in Week 8
Sammy Watkins broke out for the Chiefs in Week 8, and he could be here to stay. What else should we take away from Week 8?

The Seahawks' Defense Is Surprisingly Great

Despite a lot of roster turnover and a season-ending injury to superstar Earl Thomas, the Seattle Seahawks' defense is playing great football.

Since Week 3, they've held each opponent not named the Rams to fewer than 20 points. They haven't played any other top-tier offenses in that stretch, but our schedule-adjusted metrics have them pegged as the fourth-best defense this season. They're allowing just 5.4 yards per offensive play and are forcing offensive turnovers at the highest rate in the league.

In Week 8, they went on the road and shut down Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions, bottling up Kerryon Johnson to just 22 rushing yards and forcing fumbles off of Stafford and Ameer Abdullah.

This whole team is on a roll right now and have landed at ninth overall in our power rankings. They have some very tough matchups coming up versus the Los Angeles Chargers, Rams, and Packers in the next three weeks, but this Seahawks team could be up for the challenge. With the way their defense is playing, you have to limit your expectations for fantasy players facing the 'Hawks.
