The Indianapolis Colts have opened as seven-point favorites against the Miami Dolphins this week.
Despite ranking only 25th in Adjusted Defensive NEP per play, Indy has been putting up some decent fantasy numbers on the defensive side of the ball lately. Their last four games include one with 13 and another with 19 fantasy points -- their two highest marks of the season. They also have at least 8 or more fantasy points in 5 of their 10 games this year.
Their pass rush hasn't been consistent, but it has shown plenty of upside. They rank only 14th in the NFL in sacks on the season, but they also have three games with at least five sacks, which is something only six teams have done this season.
The Dolphins have allowed the league's 11th-highest sack rate this season, and they have given up the 3rd- and 7th-highest weekly fantasy scores to defenses in their last two games.
It's uncertain whether Ryan Tannehill returns or Brock Osweiler continues starting this week, but either one is a plus matchup for Indy. Tannehill's 2.6% career interception rate is right in line with Osweiler's 2.7% mark, and combined they've tied for the NFL's 10th-most interceptions thrown and 6th-highest interception rate this year.
If you're looking for a waiver wire defense to start in Week 12, this is a great combination of an offense to target and a defense that has shown serious fantasy upside.
