James Conner's injury creates a significant hole in the Steelers' red zone offense. What other trends should you know entering the fantasy playoffs?

Play-Calling Trends

13 weeks into the NFL season, we have seen over 3,000 red zone plays run. 1,902 of those have been pass plays, with 1,570 rushes. This puts the league-average pass-to-run ratio at 1.21 per game and means that teams have run an average of 9.04 red zone snaps per game.

Looking at the biggest variance in pass-to-run ratio, the five most pass-heavy teams have been the Minnesota Vikings (2.03-to-1), Green Bay Packers (1.94), Cincinnati Bengals (1.87), Indianapolis Colts (1.71) and Atlanta Falcons (1.61).

The five most run-heavy teams have been the Bills (0.73-to-1), Washington (0.90), the Baltimore Ravens (0.92), Carolina Panthers (0.93) and New England Patriots (0.97).

As far as red zone snaps per game, there is a clear top-two with the New Orleans Saints (13.83) and Los Angeles Rams (13.75) sitting as the only two teams running more than 11.33 per game. At the other end, we have two teams running fewer than six per game: the Arizona Cardinals (5.58) and Miami Dolphins (5.33).
