In three games since O.J. Howard landed on the injured reserve, Cameron Brate has turned 14 targets into 8 receptions, 74 yards and 3 touchdowns.
That kind of touchdown-reliant production isn't especially reliable for fantasy purposes, but tight end value options are incredibly thin on this short main slate. Even 4.7 targets per game are reasonable enough at this point.
While the Baltimore Ravens have been terrific against the pass this year, they have allowed top-12 fantasy production to tight ends, and 28.9% of the passing yards they have allowed this season have gone to the position -- the second-highest rate in the league. Baltimore has smothered wideouts, but opposing teams have looked to the tight end against them.
With the Ravens funneling volume to tight ends and Brate already seeing some decent target numbers, we can expect him to play a significant role in the Tampa offense this week, giving him some appeal on a team that the masses may just avoid altogether this weekend.
