Unless you've been actively avoiding any kind of football news the past two weeks, you've heard about Derrick Henry's incredible two-game stretch. In that time he has logged 50 carries, amassed 408 rushing yards, and found end zone 6 times. That's, uh, pretty good.
With all the excitement surrounding Henry it's been easy to overlook the biggest casualty of his emergence -- Dion Lewis. Lewis spent the majority of the season as the lead back for the Tennessee Titans, but it's clear now that the baton has been passed. He's still moderately involved, with 17 carries and 8 receptions, but Lewis will be taking a backseat to his teammate for the rest of the fantasy season.
If you're playing in a full point-per-reception league then Lewis still carries some intrigue with those eight receptions. For the rest of you, Lewis' diminishing volume and inefficient 3.37 yards per carry average aren't going to win you a fantasy championship. The Titans will be taking on a Washington offense that won't be scoring very much, so Lewis' pass-catching abilities likely won't be a central focus of their game plan.
With Derrick Henry breaking out and gobbling up the majority of the running back opportunities over the past two weeks, you can safely drop Lewis from your fantasy teams.
