Fantasy Football: One Potential Cut Candidate for Every AFC Team
Owed big money and coming off a serious injury, Demaryius Thomas is in danger of being cut loose by the Texans. Which other players are cut candidates?

Jacksonville Jaguars - Carlos Hyde

Cap Savings: $4.75 million

The 2018 NFL season, while providing several memorable plays and unforgettable moments, also left an awful lot of questions unanswered. One of the most glaring is -- why did the Jacksonville Jaguars bother trading for Carlos Hyde?

Hyde hadn’t exactly been lighting it up for the Cleveland Browns prior to his switch to the Jaguars. He averaged 3.7 yards per attempt or fewer in five of his six games in Cleveland, a woeful mark considering he saw double-digit carries in all six. He did score five touchdowns, but these scores masked his inefficiency.

As bad as he’d been as a Brown, he was positively woeful as a Jaguar. He had three games with 10 or more carries, although never more than 12 in a game, and never rushed for more than 44 yards in any contest. Hyde was one of 47 running backs to have at least 100 rushing attempts in 2018 -- only four had a lower Rushing NEP per carry (-0.12) and Rushing Success Rate (33.14%) than he did.

The Jaguars will almost certainly lose T.J. Yeldon to free agency, and there are serious questions surrounding how committed the team is to Leonard Fournette. Still, it's hard to envision Hyde sticking around when there's no penalty for cutting him loose.
