FanDuel Price: $5,600
DraftKings Price: $4,100
Facing a Kansas City Chiefs defense that has been generous to tight ends, allowing the second-most FanDuel points to the position at 13.4 per game, Rob Gronkowski and his depressed salary could seem like a tasty choice.
In fact, when these two teams met earlier in 2018, Gronk led the team in receiving yards, posting three catches for 97 yards thanks to a few long grabs. So with a 26.50 point implied team total, it's all systems go with Gronkowski, right?
Maybe not. Check out the tight end's recent receiving stats:
Week | Opponent | Targets | Catches | Yards |
---|---|---|---|---|
Playoff | Chargers | 1 | 1 | 25 |
17 | Jets | 2 | 2 | 24 |
16 | Bills | 3 | 0 | 0 |
15 | Steelers | 5 | 2 | 21 |
With only 11 combined targets, five catches, and zero scores, it's gotten a bit ugly for Gronkowski. His abysmal 7.97% target market share over those four weeks rank only fourth on the team.
Even though they are 3.0-point underdogs, which could lead to a game script that is fruitful for heavy passing volume, it's hard to trust him to put up strong numbers. Despite the lack of quality choices at the position after Travis Kelce, roster Gronk at your own risk.
