The 5 Best Bets in the Late Rounds of Your Fantasy Football Draft
Sometimes the late rounds of a draft can feel like you’re taking shots in the dark. It’s time to shed some light on five late-round players you should be targeting.

Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego Chargers

No longer the elite fantasy football tight end he once was, Antonio Gates is still a player capable of contributing more than memories of years past to your team. Currently going off the board as the 16th tight end with an ADP of 13.10, Gates is a solid bet in the late rounds.

Projected to outperform his ADP and finish in the top 10 among tight ends, Gates is coming off of a year in which he proved he's still relevant in the tight end discussion. His 114 targets and 77 receptions last season were both good for fourth at the position.

Gates is also well positioned to improve on his modest four touchdown total from 2013. The Chargers have one of the more pass-heavy red zone offenses in the league, throwing on 57.4% their red zone snaps. Gates is a relevant weapon in this attack, finishing third on the team with 15 targets in the red zone, with 10 of those targets coming from inside the 10-yard line.
