5 Important Things to Remember When Making Your Keeper Selections
Sure, anyone can keep someone like Calvin Johnson, but is that the most effective keeper strategy?

2. Analyze Your Team Composition

If you're in a keeper league in which you are keeping more than a handful of players, make sure it aligns with what type of roster you start. For instance, if you're in a league that starts a ton of wide receivers, you may want to keep a wide receiver because the position is high in demand. In other words, wide receivers will be more costly during the actual draft.

Additionally, if you're in a league that caps the number of keepers you may have and your team is loaded, see if you can trade a few of your 'surplus' keepers for draft picks. Conversely, if you're a team that doesn't love your keeper options, contact a fellow owner who will be losing players back in the pool and see if you can get something you value for mid-round picks.

The lesson learned here: be creative with your roster, and understand the way team's are constructed in your league before making a keeper selection.
