9 Things I Learned From Week 1 of the NFL Season
On Sunday, Matt Ryan showed us all why the Falcons could be ready for a big 2014 season.

The Chicago Bears' Defense Is Still Troubling

The Bears’ rush defense ranked dead last in the league last year, and since 2000, it was the second-worst one we’ve seen. And although they added Jared Allen and Lamarr Houston over the offseason, it didn’t look much better against the Bills on Sunday.

Actually, the entire defense looked bad. They faced last year’s second-worst quarterback in EJ Manuel and a Bills’ offense that ranked in the bottom eight in terms of Net Expected Points last year. But they allowed Manuel to go 16 for 22 with a score, and the rush defense allowed 193 yards on the ground.

Jay Cutler didn’t help the team out with a pair of interceptions, and if this was almost any other offense, I’d probably give the unit the benefit of the doubt if they had faced a stronger offense. But at home against the Bills, you should expect more.
