5 Things I Learned From Week 10 of the NFL Season
The Saints losing to the 49ers means the NFC South leader will have a losing record after Week 10 is over. But there's a clear winner according to our metrics.

Arizona Will Have to Dig Deep

The Cardinals are 8-1, but their starting quarterback is likely done for the year with a torn ACL.

It's a big blow, no doubt. In his limited time this season, Carson Palmer averaged 0.22 Passing NEP per drop back, good for ninth-best in the NFL. The Cardinals will now look for Drew Stanton to lead the way, who has a 0.00 Passing NEP average on 93 drop backs this year. Over the course of a full game, the gap between Palmer and Stanton equates to about a touchdown difference in the Cardinals' scoring output.

Despite the Cardinals' 7-1 record entering Week 10, our analytics still pegged them as just the seventh-best team in the league. Without Palmer, we should expect that ranking to drop. The team will have to dig deep.
