Andre Holmes has been lightning in a bottle for daily fantasy football players this season. The electric deep threat caught four touchdowns in four games during a stretch earlier in the season, but his production has dropped off as rookie quarterback Derek Carr continues to spread the ball around.
Nevertheless, this could be the time to take a leap of faith on him. The Raiders take on the Chargers this week, and Holmes had his best game as a pro the last time these two teams met, catching four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Now, maybe the Chargers buckle down on Holmes knowing what he did to them last time. Still, he’s awfully intriguing at a price of just $3,700. He easily leads all Raiders pass-catchers with a Reception NEP of 35.22, and is the clear field-stretcher for Carr. The Chargers rank a modest 16th in most fantasy points given up to wide receivers, but Holmes proved he could burn their secondary. There’s no doubt that the young wideout should have his chances on Sunday.
