8 Big-Name Players You May Want to Avoid in Week 13
We're closing in on the fantasy playoffs, and benching some of these big-name guys could help you sneak in.

Lamar Miller, RB, Miami Dolphins

I've become somewhat of a convert on Lamar Miller this year: I still don't think he has any special talent except for straight-line speed, but he's learned how to better use it, and the Dolphins' offense is shaping itself more to his talents than before. This has led to Miller ranking as the 15th-highest scoring fantasy back in 2014 despite some very rough games and playing banged-up. He's a versatile rush/receive option, but I think he needs to be benched for Week 13.

First off, the Dolphins are still shockingly intent on using Daniel Thomas. I don't get it. No one does. The only possible rationales I have for this prolonged break-up are that the Dolphins coaching staff is actually physically addicted to Thomas in specific, they're addicted to inefficient, untalented backs in general, or Thomas holds blackmail over head coach Joe Philbin, like a spurned Little League helicopter father. Whatever the rationale, the Dolphins keep going to a nonsensical committee approach that limits both Miller's floor and ceiling.

Now he has to deal with workload concerns, an AC joint sprain in his shoulder, and the Jets' defense (which ranks 16th in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP, and 7th in limiting fantasy scoring for running backs)? Miller is a play to avoid this week.
