12 Post-NFL Draft Situations to Watch at the Wide Receiver Position for Fantasy Football
The rookie wide receiver class of 2014 sent waves throughout the NFL that are still being felt during this offseason. What does the wide receiver class of 2015 have in store for this upcoming fantasy football season?

Devin Smith Set to Soar with the Jets

Whereas Phillip Dorsett enters a crowded situation where his skill set is redundant with those of the veterans already there, Ohio State receiver Devin Smith enters a similarly crowded team but with a skill set that complements those of the incumbents sitting ahead of him.

While Eric Decker fills the possession receiver role, and newly acquired Brandon Marshall fills in as the team's red zone option, the New York Jets still lacked a true deep threat until they acquired Smith in the second round of this year's draft. To emphasize Smith's expertise in this facet of the game, last season as a Buckeye Devin amassed 931 yards on just 33 receptions, good for an astounding 28.2 yards per reception average.

The one question that remains is whether or not the Jets have the quarterback to take advantage of Smith's skills. The likely day one starting quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick, completed 45% of his pass attempts thrown 21 or more yards beyond the line of scrimmage last season but also attempted just 31 of those throws.

Rookie Bryce Petty is known for having a strong arm and could be just the quarterback to take advantage of Devin's on-field speed, but it's still uncertain what the new Jets regime has in mind for their fourth-round pick and whether or not he'll see much of the field his rookie season.

While questions remain regarding who will be under center in New York this season, if the Jets can find the right quarterback to fully utilize Devin Smith deep-ball ability, I expect Smith to turn into a nice boom or bust option akin to Mike Wallace his rookie year that will be a nice option for best ball formats.
