ADP: 12 (1.12)
You don't pass on the chance to take a player that could easily finish the year at the top of their position. You especially don't do it when their ADP has them going in the second-round of fantasy football drafts.
And this exact situation is why Julio Jones is the wide receiver to target in Round 2, assuming he ends up falling just a tad, of fantasy football drafts this year.
I did a study earlier this offseason profiling when elite wideouts typically hit their primes. What I found was that players usually peak between their third and fifth seasons in the league, and around the age of 26.
Jones will be entering his fifth season as a 26-year-old wideout this year. There's reason to believe we still haven't seen the best that Jones has to offer.
Skeptics might argue that he still has to contend with an aging Roddy White for work on this team. But while -- given his elite level of talent despite his age -- White should still be able to hold his own and draw decent coverage from opposing defenses, their careers are on opposite trajectories and he isn't a threat to Jones' workload or role on this team as the Falcons' number one wideout.
It's clear that, with Julio hitting his physical prime and with his already superior athleticism combined with his ideal team situation, there's a perfect storm brewing in Atlanta for him to emerge as the top wideout in all of fantasy football in 2015. Not bad for someone that may cost you just a second-round pick in most drafts this season.
