A Running Back to Target in Each Round of Your Fantasy Football Draft
Which running back is your best option during each round of fantasy football drafts this season?

Lamar Miller, Miami Dolphins

ADP: 29 (3.05)

Lamar Miller emerged as an RB1 last season, finishing the year as the ninth-ranked tailback in PPR leagues despite never once hitting the 20-carry mark in a game all season.

On this note, his two heaviest workloads curiously came in Weeks 16 and 17 of the year. And as a testament to his ability to produce even late into the season, boy did he deliver.

In each of the last two games, Miller carried the ball 19 times to hang 92 yards and a touchdown on the Vikings before putting up 178 yards and a touchdown against the Jets.

And these weren't two end-of-the-year fluke performances, either. Miller was racking up chunks of yards on the ground all season long. On the year, Miller posted a sterling 5.1 yards per carry average to cross the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his young career.

In this respect, Miller's talent was never really in doubt. Instead, the major qualms many have had with him have always centered around his conservative workload, often being stuck in a timeshare with less talented tailbacks on the Dolphins' roster.

But for this season, the one player who I thought could be a threat to his playing time, Jay Ajayi, has continued to see his stock tumble as he struggles in camp.

In addition, it seems as though Miller's 270 yards on the ground to end the year left an impression on the coaching staff.

Head coach Joe Philbin recently gave Miller a vote of confidence, saying if he "got it 24 times a game and he’s healthy and he’s fast and he’s explosive, it doesn’t bother me one bit." And with how he responded when his carries were increased at season's end, I don't think Miller will disappoint with a bigger workload.

With an impressive three-down skill set and the support of the coaching staff, expect Miller to be a steal at his current third-round ADP with a big 2015.
