I know, I know. We shouldn't overreact to Week 1. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't react to it.
Each year there are top 40 players who are drafted to be the anchors of your team but who end up busting due to injury, ineffectiveness, or lack of talent. In 2014 there were players like Montee Ball, Giovani Bernard, Doug Martin, Zac Stacy, Keenan Allen and Cordarrelle Patterson who struggled out of the gate and failed to produce like the players they were drafted to be.
And with Week 1 of the 2015 season now under are belts, warning signs are emerging that some of the players we drafted early may not be nearly as good as we anticipated. Understanding these signs and reacting appropriately can help owners develop contingency plans or trade possibilities to ideally avoid disaster.
