In all the offseason talk of Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden taking over the Cowboys' backfield, Lance Dunbar was largely overlooked. Dunbar lead all Cowboys backs with 32 snaps in Week 1. He didn't attempt a rush, but he recorded eight receptions on eight targets.
The Cowboys are 5.5-point underdogs this week, so we can expect them to be playing from behind, which means lots of passing. Dunbar finished eighth among running backs with a 3.82 Reception NEP in Week 1 and ranked 17th in the metric last year at the position despite seeing only 18 catches. If the Cowboys are passing a lot, Dunbar has a great shot at once again leading the backfield in snaps. He should see tons of opportunities to return value on his incredibly low salary this week.
