Tight end Eric Ebron is beginning to show signs of why the Detroit Lions passed on the likes of Odell Beckham, Jr. and Kelvin Benjamin with their 10th overall pick to select Ebron in last year's NFL Draft.

After a disappointing rookie campaign in which Ebron found his way onto the field in less than half the team's total offensive snaps, resulting in just 248 receiving yards and a single touchdown, Ebron is finally using his talented 6'5", 250 pound frame to make an impact in the Lions passing attack.

On Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, Ebron commanded 10 targets from Matthew Stafford to put up 43 receiving yards and a touchdown in a Week 2 loss. And while Ebron's touchdown came in garbage time in the fourth quarter, his usage as the third most targeted pass catcher on the team this week is an encouraging sign for his sophomore season prospects.

With favorable physical comparisons to elite tight end Jimmy Graham and constant praise this offseason from teammates and coaching staff, all signs point to Ebron making that second-year leap this season, making him a fine waiver wire add as a high-upside TE2 with every-week TE1 potential.
