5 Daily Fantasy Football Matchups to Exploit in Week 3

With the Seahawks projected to win with ease in Week 3, their running game should be on your radar.

What in the world happened in Week 2, fam? The certainties flopped; the underdogs topped. The carnage reached the outermost stretches of the DFS world. Blessings on all of you for even surviving to this point.

Flush it.

We're on to Week 3 and ready to make it rain on our bankrolls once again. Things seem to be a little bit clearer now as roles become better defined, so let's get cooking.

As we do each week here on numberFire, it's time to look at some matchups you should be trying to exploit in daily fantasy football this weekend. These are the parts of an offense that have the best combination of floor and upside based on what their opposition brings to the table.

In order to identify these matchups, we'll be using numberFire's Net Expected Points (NEP) metric. NEP is how we measure efficiency for both teams and individual players.

Here's how NEP works. On each play, there's an expected number of points a player will score. A positive play -- such as a 3-yard run on 3rd-and-2 -- will increase that expected point total. A negative play -- such as a 3-yard run on 3rd-and-4 -- will decrease that expected point total. NEP tracks how much that number fluctuates throughout the course of a season and spits out a number that reflects the efficiency of that player or team. All team totals are then adjusted based on the strength of the opponent.

Using NEP, I think we should be able to avoid another dumpster fire like Week 2. Let's see where we should be focusing our attention this week.
