Again, I don’t like cornerbacks. I never will. Yet I cannot turn my nose up at a cornerback who is making big plays while still sustaining a strong tackle base as well. Janoris Jenkins of the St. Louis Rams has at least five tackles in every game he’s played this year, and he’s on a two-game interception streak to boot. This kind of production should be not only stream-worthy, but sustainable. In cornerback-specific leagues, he is even more valuable. He’s currently the 17th-ranked defensive back in balanced IDP fantasy scoring, and the 11th-best cornerback.
Even better, he gets to take on the Green Bay Packers this week. The Packers have become über-conservative of late, ranking third in the league in terms of run-to-pass ratio, but they still like to test cornerbacks on valuable throws. Granted, this is at home for the Pack -- and Aaron Rodgers hasn’t thrown an interception there in years -- but it’s worth a look as a streaming spot despite the lack of interception upside since Jenkins is solid in run support as well.
Jenkins is available in 84.4% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for around 6.5 tackles, a chance at a sack, a chance for an interception, a chance for a pass defensed, and a total score of 7.85 balanced fantasy points in Week 5.
