For those of you who've been living the stream since Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger went down, you may be getting a little tired of the high-wire act and want to settle down with a quarterback for a few weeks. Enter Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire since his debut with the Jets, and currently sports a middling 0.03 Passing NEP per drop back, which is barely above what Peyton Manning's done this season. But he does have a slew of cake matchups heading his way in Weeks 6-9, with four teams whose passing defense rank in the bottom half of the league, including the Redskins (21st), Patriots (16th), Raiders (32nd), and Jaguars (29th).
Fitzgerald easily has the best weapons at his disposal that he’s ever had in his career in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, so look for them to feast on these bottom-feeding secondaries and help give Fitzpatrick's efficiency (and fantasy) numbers a boost in the near future. With low ownership in both ESPN and Yahoo leagues, acquiring Fitzpatrick will likely be easy, and hopefully should put your mind at ease until Week 10. By then, hopefully one of your fallen stud quarterbacks will be back on the gridiron.
