The case for Antonio Gates this week is relatively simple. First, his price point has still not caught up with his production as he's still performing like an elite tight end despite missing the first four games due to suspension.

Second, he's facing the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have been absolutely abysmal against tight ends this season, giving up 14.4 points per game on average, having already been torched by Tyler Eifert and Martellus Bennett, and launching the names Gary Barnidge and Crockett Gillmore into our collective fantasy consciousness.

With slot receiver Stevie Johnson still questionable with a hamstring injury, and Keenan Allen dealing with a hip flexor that took him out of the game last Sunday and may limit him this weekend, Gates could be in line for an even greater target share than the already large share he would've inherited anyway.

And as mentioned when touting Philip Rivers earlier, the Raiders' run defense is much more stout than their passing defense, meaning the offensive success the Chargers find will more than likely come primarily through the air. As such, Gates is about as close to a must-play in cash games as it gets this week. Roster him as a chalky but safe play.
