On a day where Drew Brees tied the NFL record for touchdowns in a game by throwing for seven against the Giants 15th-ranked passing defense, Willie Snead found himself on the receiving end of two of those touchdowns to continue his breakout rookie season.
Emerging as perhaps the best wideout in New Orleans, Snead's 0.82 Reception NEP per target going into Week 8 ranked him as the 14th most efficient receiver in the league with at least 30 targets, ahead of Allen Robinson (0.79), Odell Beckham, Jr. (0.78), and DeAndre Hopkins (0.77). This has resulted in Brees relying heavily on Snead, with the rookie wideout seeing the second most targets on the team (45), behind only Brandin Cooks (58) going into their contest with New York.
And with Snead making the most of every opportunity thrown his way to produce 5.2 receptions and 77.2 yards per game over Brees' last five starts, Snead deserves consideration as a waiver wire pick up this week as perhaps the top option on a highly productive passing offense.
