High-Cost Option: Arizona Cardinals $3,900
The Cardinals travel to the Rams this week, and frankly, it doesn't matter who's under center -- this Arizona D/ST is in a great spot to use each and every week. The Cardinals and their league-leading 32.3 points per game forces the opposition into throwing to catch up. Tied for fourth in takeaways on the season, this Arizona defense is very opportunistic when that situation arises. The Rams are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing D/ST units, and if Arizona can jump out to an early lead (they're 5.5-point road favorites), their secondary filled with playmakers could take advantage of turnovers.
Mid-Cost Option: Cincinnati Bengals $3,400
There's very few D/ST units with good matchups at home on this week's slate, but we should be able to forego that with the Bengals getting one of this week's softest opponents in Cleveland. Favored by seven points, the Bengals' defense will take on the Austin Davis-led Browns this week in what Vegas projects to be the lowest scoring offense at just 17 points. The Bengals rank as a top-10 unit in takeaways and have averaged 10.2 fantasy points per game over their last five matchups. Cleveland has given up the most fantasy points to opposing D/ST units, and that should continue with third-stringer Davis leading the charge this week.
Low-Cost Option: Chicago Bears $2,600
Penny-pinching with the Bears D/ST this week looks to be a great way to go if in need of some cap space to roster other skill position players. At home and favored by seven points, they'll take on a struggling Blaine Gabbert-led 49ers offense. The Bears have been playing solid defense as of late, allowing only 14 points per game over their last four games. Averaging 8.3 fantasy points over that time span, Chicago doesn't have a terrifically high ceiling, but they offer a nice floor for those looking to pay up at other positions.
GPP Wildcard: Pittsburgh Steelers $2,800
Taking on a traveling Colts team, the Steelers D/ST make for an intriguing option that figures to be low owned this week. The Steelers have the 5th-most sacks on the season and the 13th-most pressures on opposing quarterbacks and figure to force Matt Hasselbeck into some bad decisions. The Steelers also rank top-10 in takeaways on the season, while averaging 9.7 fantasy points per game at home, making them a viable option if looking outside the box for GPP plays.
